Shannon received her DVM from Louisiana State University in 2013. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania. She returned to LSU for a combined clinical pathology residency and Master's degree. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathology in 2017, and is currently an Associate Professor at LSU.
