Dr. Elizabeth Maxwell graduated from Ross University, afterwhich she completed a rotating Internship at Louisiana State University. Dr. Maxwell completed a small animal surgical residency and masters program at the University of Illinois, followed by a 1-year Surgical Oncology Fellowship at University of Florida and then was hired as an Assistant Professor in Surgical Oncology. Dr. Maxwell is a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner and serves as past-president of the Veterinary Wound Management Society, an President for the Collaborative Care Coalition, a nonprofit organization that aims to improve the relationships between primary care veterinarians and veterinary specialists. Recently Dr. Maxwell began hosting The Margin, the official podcast of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncologists.
