Presentation Description / Summary: Radiation therapy is one of the three mainstay treatment options for veterinary oncology patients. There are multiple radiation delivery techniques and protocols which are chosen based on numerous factors. This presentation will focus on external beam radiation therapy (teletherapy) and provide insight on the treatment delivery methods for photons and electrons (e.g. 3DCRT, IMRT, SRT, etc.). The rationale behind why certain protocols are preferred for certain tumor types and cases will be discussed. After understanding this information, the veterinary technician will be better prepared to provide superior patient care throughout the radiation treatment process.
