This presentation will be an interactive session of the audience with a panel of experts in the field of pancreatitis in small animals. The panel will make some introductory remarks on etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis, and management of pancreatitis, which is followed by questions from the audience. This session is designed to provide a brief overview over topics that have not changed very much in recent years while at the same time allowing to provide an in-depth discussion on topics where there have been significant advances.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will be able to discuss potential risk factors and pathogenetic pathways for pancreatitis in dogs and cats.
  • Attendees will be able to discuss the various diagnostic tests that can be utilized to diagnose pancreatitis in dogs and cats and how they can be used together to achieve optimal diagnostic accuracy.
  • Attendees will be able to design an optimal management plan for dogs and cats with pancreatitis.
