Removing foreign bodies from the gastro-intestinal tract can be both rewarding and very frustrating! This session is aimed at discussing strategies to remove foreign bodies from the gastro-intestinal tract by endoscopy. We will use pictures and video examples from clinicians of varied background with their unique experience. The attendee will become familiar with different tips on technique and material that can be helpful and adapted to their own practice.
Learning Objectives:
List the most common instruments used to retrieve foreign bodies.
Describe different techniques to remove foreign bodies from the oesophagus.
Explain the possible complications to account for at time and after removal of oesophageal or gastric foreign body.
