Presentation Description / Summary: Pedicle screw and rod fixation is a valuable tool for stabilization of the vertebral column. There are multiple potential uses for this type of system. However the instrumentation tends to be different than other techniques used for spinal stabilization. This lab is intended to introduce the participant to the implants as well as the equipment used to apply the system. It will discuss techniques used for optimal use of pedicle screw fixation. The lab participants would then apply the implants in various 3-D printed models from actual cases.
Learner Outcomes: 1. The participants will be able to identify and use the implants and tools used to apply pedicle screw and rod fixation. 2. The attendee will gain and understanding for the potential used and proper locations for application of this type of system. 3. The attendee will properly place the screws and rods in a model using the appropriate equipment.
Learning Objectives:
The participant will be able to identify and use the implants and tools used to apply pedicle screw and rod fixation.
The attendee will demonstrate an understanding for the potential uses and proper locations for application of this type of system.
The participant will properly place the screws and rods in a model using the appropriate equipment
