Presentation Description / Summary: Nursing care is a critical skill that the veterinary technician provides to all patients. Patients with neurological conditions require intensive nursing care and knowledge to help provide the best opportunity for a positive outcome. Discussion will include management of “down dogs” following either trauma or IVDD surgery, care of patients experiencing seizures and care of patients with neuromuscular diseases.
Learner Outcomes: 1) Nursing care protocols for patients following IVDD diagnosis. 2) Nursing care protocols for patients experiencing seizures due to a variety of reasons. 3) Nursing care protocols for patients experiencing neuromuscular disorders.
