I graduated with my degree in veterinary medicine in July 2008 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal. I completed Large Animal Internships at Ghent University, Belgium and at the University of Guelph, Canada. Finally, I underwent a dual program completing my Residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine as well as a PhD in equine cardiology at the University of Georgia, USA, in 2016. My PhD dissertation was entitled, “Preliminary Investigation of Angiotensin-Converting-Enzyme Inhibitors and Pimobendan in Horses”. I became an ACVIM diplomate in 2016 when I concluded my residency. After concluding my residency, I worked as an internal medicine clinician at the Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Australia, for 6 months.
