Elaine Norton is an assistant profession in the Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences and the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Arizona. She investigates complex genetic traits in horses, with the goal of improving horse health and well-being. Currently, she is focusing on expanding the understanding of the pathophysiology of EMS allow for early detection of high-risk individuals prior to onset of clinical disease. She is also exploring the interactions between EMS genetic risk factors and the environment.
