Dr. Jessica Ward obtained her DVM degree from NC State University in 2011 and completed her small animal rotating internship at the Ohio State University before returning to NC State for Cardiology residency. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, holds the Phyllis M. Clark Endowed Professorship in Cardiology, and serves as the Assistant Dean for Extramural Student Programs. Dr. Ward's research interests include point-of-care ultrasound, pharmacology of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. She has been honored to receive several teaching awards in recent years including the Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award and the Iowa State University Award for Early Achievement in Teaching.
