Dr. Edwards earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia and then pursued a rotating internship at the Department of Defense Military Working Dog Center. He returned to the University of Georgia to complete a combined masters and residency in veterinary emergency and critical care, subsequently becoming board certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He recently retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and now holds dual appointments at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research and Texas A&M University.
