Dr. Villarino is originally from Argentina. Dr. Villarino is the Kay Yarborough Nelson Distinguished Professor in Feline Health at Washington State University.
As a Board-Certified expert in Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology, Dr. Villarino leads a research program at the forefront of the Program in Individualized Medicine. His dedication is aimed at developing innovative tools that have the potential to revolutionize how we individualize treatments for companion animals.
Under his guidance, his laboratory has achieved significant progress in (i) discovering new molecules for the early detection of kidney disease in cats and (ii) validating a genetic alteration as a risk factor for this condition.
