I grew up in Colorado and went to college at Colgate University where I discovered my interest in research in addition to veterinary medicine. Post-college I worked at the National Institutes of Health studying tuberculosis pathogenesis in various animal models. Combining my interest in clinical medicine and research, I pursued the VMD/PhD program at The University of Pennsylvania where I obtained my PhD in Molecular Biology in 2019 and my VMD in 2020. I did a large animal internship at The University of Georgia and a year post-doc at The University of Washington in St. Louis. Currently, I am a second-year Equine Medicine resident at The Ohio State University where my interest include neonatology, GI disturbances, immunology, and microbiology. Specifically, I am interested in investigating neutrophil biology in neonatal foals and whether therapies aimed at controlling or augmenting neutrophil functions can improve the outcome of sick foals. Outside of work my interests include traveling with my partner, running, and spending time with my dog.
