Dr. Carla Olave was raised in the south of Chile. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Universidad Austral of Chile and continued on at Austral to complete an internship in equine medicine and surgery. Following the internship, Dr. Olave continued with a Master’s degree at the same university, during which she developed an interest in studying Equine Asthma. This led her to join Dr. Couetil and his team at Purdue University for a PhD focused on studying Equine Asthma in racehorses. Dr. Olave is currently the third-year resident in Large Animal Medicine at Purdue University. Her main area of interest is respiratory diseases in horses.
