Dr. Chicoine graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. He worked in mixed animal practice for 2 years then began graduate studies and a clinical pharmacology residency. In 2007 he completed his MSc and passed the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology board exams.
Dr. Chicoine has been on faculty at the WCVM since 2007, teaching pharmacology and physiology to vet students. His research interests include veterinary drug residue assessment, antimicrobial use & resistance, clinical pharmacokinetics, and veterinary analgesics. He has also worked as a veterinary drug evaluator for Health Canada, and been an invited expert for the WHO/FAO Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives since 2013.
