Mary graduated from the University of Sydney and worked in small animal practice in Sydney before completing a rotating internship and residency in small animal internal medicine at Washington State and Purdue universities. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Mary has spent the last 18 years working in clinical academic roles at The University of Queensland, where she completed her PhD, and more recently (2015-2020) at Murdoch University. Her major area of clinical and research interest is bacterial urinary tract infection/colonisation of dogs and cats.
