The purspose of this presentation is to try and promote the need for a strict definition for drug resistant epilepsy in veterinary medicine. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Be familiar with the rough number of dogs that may be affected by epilepsy, and the data that general proportion of patients that are not controlled
  • Be familiar for common reasons of drug resistance/pharmacoresistant epilepsy
  • Consider which factors should be important when deeming a patient to be drug resistant/pharmacoresistant
