Presentation Description / Summary: This case-based discussion will present clinical cases of poor performance due to various neuromuscular causes including the movement disorders shivers and stringhalt, equine neuroaxonal dystrophy/degenerative myeloencephalopathy, inherited myopathies, vitamin E deficient myopathy and compressive myelopathies. Videos of clinical cases will be presented, discussed and a diagnostic and treatment plan decided upon for each case. Outcomes will be presented.
Learner Outcomes: (1) Identify potential neuromuscular causes of poor performance in sport horses (2) Develop a diagnostic testing and subsequent treatment plan for cases of poor performance due to neuromuscular disease
