Presentation Description / Summary: This presentation will review current and possible future uses of radiation therapy (RT) for feline inflammatory diseases (primarily focusing on use of RT for inflammatory bowel disease, but also for rhinitis, arthritis, and cystitis) and neoplastic diseases (specifically, use of RT in the treatment of both small cell and large cell GI lymphoma in cats).
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe 2 potential benefits of using radiation therapy as part of patient management in cats with primary GI diseases including inflammatory bowel disease and small cell and large cell GI lymphoma.
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the biologic mechanism(s) by which radiation therapy could benefit cats with inflammatory diseases.
Upon completion, participant will be able to list 3 inflammatory disease processes in which use of radiation therapy could provide clinical benefit to cats.
