Presentation Description / Summary: This presentation will review for audience members unfamiliar with dialysis the basic definitions and concepts of dialysis. The difference between hemodialysis and other types of extracorporeal therapies available. The presentation will also provide guidelines as to what types of cases would benefit from dialysis and when and where to refer a case for management.

Learner Outcomes: Learning Objectives By the end of the session the audience should be able to 1. Understand and explain the difference between diffusive modalities and convective modalities, 2 . List at least 3 types of dialysis,  3. Know indications for dialysis and when to refer the case for treatment
